"LR FASHION SHOWS" AND "LR SPECIAL SALES"

With the publication of two new paths into history, “lR fashion shows” and “lR special sales”, we retrace other key chapters in Rinascente’s story. The paths feature visuals from the archives and stories unpublished until now, that highlight a modern sales system: a calendar of themed events and a new way of presenting fashion with events organised within the department store and elsewhere.

POSTERS BY RINASCENTE

With the publication of a new “path”, we tell another key chapter in Rinascente’s history that gives a greater insight into the communication strategies adopted by the large department store before the dawn of modern graphic design in the 1950s. This line of exploration is complemented with never-before-published images of advertising posters and sketches taken mainly from Rinascente’s treasured archive of posters, dating back to the 1920s-1950s. The majority of these works were designed by Marcello Dudovich, a testament to Rinascente’s longstanding and fruitful collaboration with the artist hailing from Trieste.

DESIGN CENTRE

For Milan’s Salone del Mobile fair, we are providing a brand-new exploratory look at The Rinascente Design Centre in the form of a publication. Research, experimentation, creativity, and innovation are at the core of the Rinascente Design Centre, founded in 1955 by Augusto Morello. Through never-before-published images, we tell the success story of a centre that for many years has been a hotbed of creativity, and has drawn its strength from a collaborative design process. Some of its partners have included Giulio Carlo Argan, Gae Aulenti, Mario Bellini, Italo Lupi, Bruno Munari, Bob and Ornella Noorda, Roberto Orefice, Richard Sapper, Ettore Sottsass, Oliviero Toscani, Akioshi Yabuki, Kazuko Watanabe and Marco Zanuso.
