Rinascente Cagliari is destroyed during the bombing of 1943. The works to renovate it, according to the most modern criteria of efficiency and beauty, end on September 15, 1948. The building houses a cinema and a bar. The last two floors are occupied by a hotel with a restaurant and a large hall where the city's most important events and fashion shows are held.

Rinascente is a major player in the process that led to the birth and establishment of the Italian fashion system after World War II. The spaces of the Cagliari branch are at the service of the city: they host social occasions such as spring fashion shows. In 1951 they are identified by the prefetto "for the purpose of serving customers in the best possible way, with the maximum guarantee of seriousness" to set up the outlet for clothieries that arrived on the island as international aid.

In the 1950s and 1960s Rinascente organized fairs dedicated to different countries. A very open window on the world, through which the department store offered its public the best production of handicrafts from faraway places. These events exert a considerable influence on the aesthetic and cultural sensibility of the Italian public, expanding its boundaries.
In 1968 the Exhibition of England is set up in Cagliari, in collaboration with the British commercial and diplomatic authorities.

THE BIRTH OF READY-TO-WEAR
In the fundamental shift from tailoring to mass production, play a key role the young public, sports, leisure and vacationing. Rinascente Cagliari is a privileged showcase for the beachwear collections, as well as for the outdoor furniture collections, which enliven the spaces set up by architect Rosanna Monzini.

While recapturing all the most important luxury brands, Rinascente, as Vice President Vittorio Radice wrote, remains "the home and family of the inhabitants of the area in which it is located" and above all "the true expression of a city's lifestyle."
